Guest co-writer
Intrapology is a queer sci-fi series in the form of interactive online shows that combine theatre and games, for audiences that are excluded from in-person venues due to disability, chronic illness, or geography. Our shows are powered by our own original software, and is set in a storyworld inspired by feminist technoscience theories. Our first season is funded by a Project Grant from Arts Council England, and we performed our first two episodes in late 2024.
We are currently looking for a co-writer for our third episode, which will explore the broken relationship between two alien anthropologists.
Pay
Our budget for this work is £1000 GBP. You’ll be paid after invoicing us at each deliverable deadline.
Objectives
The episode will be around 45 minutes long, with around 10 minutes of interstitial videos and alternative scenes and dialogue that respond to audience choices.
- Help to decide the structure of the episode as a whole, and write dialogue for specific scenes within that.
- Contribute to an authentic story about relationship breakdown that reexamines the concept of jealousy outside of mono- hetero- and cis-normative tropes.
- Effective dramatic dialogue that follows "show don't tell".
- Style is comparable to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Good Place, Star Trek (especially DS9 and Strange New Worlds)
Required skills
- Experience writing the roms, the coms, the rom-coms, the drama, the dramedies.
- Understanding of interactive storytelling in indie games, XR, or immersive theatre.
- Comfort using markup, ideally in Ink.
You will be working alongside lead writer Zoyander Street and dramaturg Fadumo Hassan. This project is led by disabled and neurodivergent artists, so some experience bridging communication styles and working on "crip time" is beneficial.

Motivations and priorities
We care about:
- A flourishing culture of networked live art that centres people who have been let down by the illusory “return to normal”: disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent people, as well as people who face other barriers to in-person venues such as geographic inequality.
- Anti-racist and decolonial worlding, neuroqueering, and solidarity with all oppressed people.
- Sustainable technology, frugal computing, indieweb, open source, right to repair, keeping the web free, and pursuing the dream of permacomputing. No blockchain, no Web3, no “AI”.
