Looking for organisations and artists in Brazil
We're exploring potential partners for a remote collaboration between UK and Brazil. At this stage we are just participating in creating a proposal for large funders, and we are looking for potential partners who have an interest in online work in the Intrapology sci-fi storyworld (see our wiki for an overview).
Background
This opportunity concerns a potential partnership with community arts bookshop Typeset CIC, as part of the development of a project exploring themes around embodiment. In particular, the proposed collaboration hopes to explore alternatives to medicalised or pathologising approaches to the body, through partnerships between science and the arts. Our existing partners on this application have a particular interest in how (cishetero)sexism, ableism, and racism show up in figurations of the body. If the grant application is successful, this project would include a documentary about women artists with cancer, and a sculpture project using body imaging technologies in a sports science research lab.
Intrapology is hoping to develop another arm of the project, if we find a partner org or artist we vibe with (or should that be "with whom we vibe?) We are looking for a partner based in Brazil who has an interest in work connected with theatre, games, or experimental media. This could be an individual, perhaps a guest writer or performer, or it could be an organisation, such as an arts collective or theatre company.
Format
The most obvious output of this collaboration would be an episode of Intrapology - this is an online interactive show carried out by video call, with a custom web app that allows the audience to influence what the main character says and does. See our recording from the March 2023 test performance for an example. But we're open to other ideas, including database narratives, zines, and short films.
